CNY!!!!!!!!! part 2
haha ok man as usual CNY in my dad's rural hometown in malaysia was an amazing affair.
doing research for debates now but that doesnt stop me from slacking and doing other things such as this
i tell u, NOTHING beats seeing and hearing all sorts of explosives, firecrackers, rockets,fireworks, flaming sparks go off all around u. in the afternoon of new year's eve, there will always be some ppl who will light some "BANG" stuff. it progressively gets louder till from 11.30 pm to 12.30 am, man that's the climax of the whole (illegal) pyrotechnics affair that rocks the entire town. wat i saw on tv in chinatown was nothing man, come experience the real exhilaration in malaysia, (but not so truly asia). truly indescribable. u just gotta be there. it's different coz everything is LIY or light-it-yourself. it's just so fun when u get to light ur own rockets and fireworks, instead of some stupid 'pyrotechnics expert' they employ in chinatown.
there's this rather powerful cracker that my cousins and i buried in the soil and when it exploded there was pandemonium coz the soil was flung everywhere. on the walls, the floor the roof... lucky it was all dry or i would have gotten into serious trouble. so the customary destructive cny was checked. last yr i killed a frog when it jumped on an exploding cracker. not a pretty sight.
haha anyway happy cny to everyone... to top the cny atmosphere up, all the crackers were made in china (where else) so we r literally not forgetting our roots. right now just chill and try not to think about o level results (man i dreamt i got 11 points yesterday) haha

first wk of lessons (and 1 wk to cny)
ok, nothing much happened during the first wk of lessons... just that some thing i learnt last year seems to have slipped out of my mind... so i gotta pay attention in functions and mole concept...
btw have i mentioned my chem teacher is the DM? it wouldnt matter so much if i wasnt the chem rep... huge stress man.
did i mention that i am in choir? yeah its a refreshing change coz i get to sing as much as i like and the ppl are considerably less cheena than the average hwachongian, and thats sayin something coz hwachong is NOT cheena in the first place (how many times do i have to say this??!!!)... yeah i'm in tenor... tenor 2 actually so technically i'm in baritone... the tenor-bass in between, and hopefully i'll get to go for the overseas competition in april.
ok anyway i went for CIP today at west coast CC for the collection of karang guni items from houses which was pretty damn tiring given how much ppl give and some ppl give WASHING MACHINES so yeah... u get the idea.
what i didnt realise was that this CIP was similar to the one i did wif rv scouts last year, the collection of food items thing. yeah... so guess what rv scouts was there at the CIP too... i was one of the leaders there and so i chose to lead the scouts... duh.... the surprised faces on the juniors were priceless, man. we were known as the 'hwa chong leaders' like wth... but it was true coz the leaders were from hwa chong but still it sounded a tad corny. so anyway i had a good time listening to new bitchings about teachers and the school, and of course, ek and linkin pig. who can EVER forget those two lovely women?
come monday... i will become a catholic high boy for a day coz i have their uniform. hahahahahaaa..... finally got to wear something other than the rv uniform, though the cat. high uniform is still shorts.. argh.
and this is my 80th entry. way to go!

hwa chong!!
ok, just wanna clarify, i said in my previous entry that some ppl in my class werent very enthu. , but yeah.... i think my class is v. gd now...
man, last day of orientation totally, totally rocked. war games was fun, but the girls were downright SCARY. i mean, from the look of their faces, they were ready to kill. any rv scout reading this, if u think our war games are violent, u havent seen the girls at hwa chong, man. they're not physically violent, but their looks and the way they scream really scares me... lol.
btw for hwa chongians (yams) reading this, i got killed by wensi yesterday when i stupidly allowed myself to walk alone wif cat and songhua who were so free in rjc and decided to drop by hwa chong... dammit so this time rjc got me killed.
then oh man my class actually won best item for faculty judging. really couldnt believe it coz there were classes that had a better item, but some said it was 'too sexy' hahaha... didnt know those things existed, nothing compared to what we see on mtv though. so in the end we had to perform during the campfire. the girls were estatic, and we guyz were sort of apprehensive. lol we were joking about going home before the campfire so that we wont perform. overall wise, wif class flag and item my class came in second in artemis (my faculty). haha actually i wanted our class flag to win but S61's won instead. very nice flag they have. jps ppl will understand coz zhiyong is in that class. the only drawback was the motto "true freedom rocks the world" or something like that which sounded damn communist. lol.
campfire totally rocked. we got to see the best item for the other 3 facs. in truth, they thrashed my class's item but well, it was fun. and then oh man the faculty dances were downright 'pian tai'. i thought artemis' fac. dance was difficult enough, but faculties like apollo and ares were even harder and much more impressive. it didnt help at all to realise later that artemis was lowest on points among the 4 faculties... but nvr mind, we have the coolest name. haha. campfire was really really great. my spirits were higher than any scouts/guides campfire that i ever attended. the fire was great, and the singing and jumping and all that. for once, EVERYONE in my class was singing and laughing together. we were real high man. the college songs rocked too. we really had a great orientation man, the hwachong spirit really rocks.
lessons starting on monday.. already got my econs lecture notes... looks rather dry to me honestly... but the bottomline is, i've fell in love wif hwa chong man. i dont think i will be able to stand it if i'm out during the JAE exercise. just give me 7 A1s!!!

gonna be the last day of orientation...
right... one more day of orientation to go, and we're having war games tmr. hey man, i'm all prepared for whatever war games they have, thanks to scouts. NOTHING can beat the way rv scouts play war games man... i'll like to see hci do it
anyway... i've made my choice of cca... or rather the cca made me its choice... coz i was thinking that i've had uniformed grp experience in rv... i'm not really gd at sports and games, so i'd give performing arts a try. lol guess what, hwachong choir accepted me. it was incredible coz i was 'competing' wif all those ppl wif choral backgrounds, and i was like in SCOUTS, but somehow i made it thru... maybe it's got something to do wif my perfect pitch... haha
and i CANT FREAKIN STAND IT ANYMORE coz some of the guyz in my class just refuse to participate in just about everything. i mean, what's their problem dammit. i'm not gonna look out for them anymore coz if they want to slack off and be so aloof then its their own frickin business.
so OG1 may actually be a curse coz it made me set high standards for my class... and too damn right i'm disappointed. but hey at least most of my class is still enthu...

ok i'm writing this after i've seen my og mate steffi's blog... coz HWA CHONG IS NOT CHEENA.
to all rafflesians, st. nick'sans, SCGSians, ACSians, MGSians and all other ppl who come from english speaking schs, just becoz ppl in hwachong speak mandarin like 20% of the time doesnt make it the most dong dong qiang sch in the nation (i'm quoting steffi on this) lol...
really, coz i lay the claim to be from one of the most cheena schs u can ever find in singapore... rvhs. ask anyone ok?
yeah... so lol only our dear principal/CEO is cheena enough lar... coz once we r initiated into the hwachong f-AH-mily, we officially become hwachongyams. yup, the only tuber sch in the region. then ball games r disallowed in the plaza coz GRASS might break... then ther'e ex-AH-minations... well u get the picture.
not cheena lar... just darn farnie at times...

orientation rocks!!!!!
man, ok i finished my first wk of orientation... yeah another wk to go guyz.
just wanna say that my OG totally rocked. i DARE anyone to find another group that is as noisy and lively as mine. anyway we at hwa chong got into real classes on friday, so i was kinda suffering from post-OG blues, but then again my class has 7 rvians and we make up the majority. not the high sch guys. RVians outnumber the rest in 06S65. thats my class btw. so these r the ppl in my class.

yup. in other words, hwa chong rocks, even though i cant understand the school song and even though i have to take chinese lessons for the first term. maybe chinese lessons will help coz i havent spoken chinese for almost 2 mths and its like shit now. ppl in hwa chong dont speak much chinese either... so to the rv ppl, next time i meet up wif u guyz dont expect me to speak in chinese ok? heheee.
PS to tara. it IS billie joe armstrong ok. it may be a short form for joel but that's what the album and all other articles about the band use. and anyway it will be lame for joel to be put in short form coz joe sounds almost the same anyway. [note to ppl: joel is a monosyallbic name even though i use and respond to the double syllabled one]. the only joel in music i know is joel madden, lead singer of good charlotte.
